Bone, pinner's bone
Pinner's bone. Bovine metatarsal, left side, fused. The lateral and medial sides have been sawn off at the distal end. There four facets cut into the proximal end of the shaft with thirteen grooves cut into the longitudinal axis by a saw. There are file marks on every side. The foreman is very small, and there is an enlarged hole at the proximal end. There is a very slight trace of copper salt staining around the foreman on the exterior surface.
