Bone, pinner's bone
Pinner's bone. Bovine metatarsal, right side, fused. Lateral and medial side at the distal end, sawn off. There are four facets at the proximal end, with ten deep grooves cut into the longitudinal axis with a saw. There are file marks on every side. The posterior faceted end has been very heavily worked, to the extent that the bone has been completely worn away. There is a small foramen and an enlarged hole at the proximal end.
