Knife
Fragment of knife, broken across the plate tang. The back of the blade has a regular convex curve; the edge, now worn, with a slight step between edge and tang, follows the line of the back, levelling at the tip. The plate-tang is broken across the second rivet hole, but an earlier publication (Wheeler 1930,79, Pl XXXVI, 4) shows that there was a second joining fragment with three more rivet holes for the attachment of bone handle plates, terminating in an integral circular suspension loop with polygonal exterior; as Manning Type 7d.
