Measure, baluster measure
A baluster measure that shows signs of heat damage. The circular touch on rim to the right of the handle depicts a hand-held armillary sphere and a star with the initials ‘T’ and ‘S’ below for Thomas Stevens, London, OP4513, LTP757. Stevens was given his freedom by his brother William on 21 June, 1716 and opened shop four years later on 23 March, 1720 when he struck this touch on the London Touch Plate LTPIII. Another brother, Philip, was also a pewterer. Date: after 1720. See A2820 for a larger measure by Stevens.
