Signing a petition against Sunday Bill near Surrey Theatre June 28th/55
A waggoner and other men queue to sign a petition against the Sunday Bill while two children look on. In background hangs a poster reading 'Go to Church' . Petition being signed is against the Act prohibiting trade on Sundays, 1855. Landells (1833-77) was war correspondent for the ILN covering the Crimean, Prusso-Danish and Franco-Prussian wars.
