The Custom House
Facade of the Custom House seen from the river. Laing's building (originally erected in 1817) with Robert Smirke's facade completed in 1826. A high timber jetty stands out into the river with steps down to a deck near water level against which is a sailing barge. The Monument is visible to the left.
