Handle, box handle
Copper-alloy drop handle, with deep rounded curve, made from a strip of copper alloy, diamond-shaped in section, changing to a rectangular section at the terminals, which are curved to form suspension loops and are decorated with elaborate baluster and cordon mouldings. A well-made, straight, double-spiked loop (L 31mm) remains in each suspension loop, indicating that the handle was attached to a wooden object, most probably a chest.
