Paintings, Prints & Drawings — C. 1840
Westminster from Lambeth
This distant view of Westminster shows, from left to right, the church of St. John in Smith Square, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Hall and part of Westminster Bridge. Four figures are depicted on the shore in the right foreground, close to a moored barge.
This picture was painted after an engraving published in 1827 for George Cooke's 'Views in London and its Vicinity', from a drawing by Samuel Prout.
