Exterior view of Exeter Change, Strand West. With signs for 'Pidcock's grand menagerie for wild beasts & birds', and 'the grandest menagerie in Europe up one pair of stairs, the only elephant alive in England'. Also signed are shops, a fishmonger, painter and glazier and billiard room. Two large birds [emus] stand on the roof. '
J. Winston' is stamped beneath the work. 49.48 is by the same artist and is signed & dated 1801.
