Paintings, Prints & Drawings — C. 1821
Albany Cottage, Regent's Park
Albany Cottage was one of eight villas built by John Nash in Regent’s Park around 1826. It was designed for the merchant banker, diarist and dandy Thomas Raikes (who is perhaps the figure standing before it in a long dark coat), and stood on the western edge of the park until the mid-twentieth century. The site is now occupied by the London Central Mosque.
