St. Mary Magdalen
St Mary Magdalen Church on the corner of Old Fish Street and Old Change was rebuilt after the Great Fire of London by the office of Sir Christopher Wren. This wash drawing – a design for Thomas Hosmer Shepherd’s ‘London in the Nineteenth Century’ – also shows the premises of Richard Bosher, an oilman and ink-manufacturer at 29 Old Fish Street, as well as a man carrying a large load over his shoulders, a couple conversing and a girl walking down Old Change.
