Paintings, Prints & Drawings — 1873
Thames Embankment from Somerset House
This print is based on the study for the painting of 'The Embankment' by John O'Connor in the Museum of London's collection (85.552). The study was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1874. There are several differences between this print and 85.552: different figures on the terrace of Somerset House, no soldiers on the embankment and different boats on the water. The print was published in 'The Stationers Almanac', 1873.
