Strap fitting, lorica segmentata hinged strap fitting
Fixed element from a copper-alloy hinged fitting from plate armour, lorica segmentata, with a yellowish patina. It has three holes, the central one possibly being secondary, and there is dishing around the rivet holes. The body is double thickness sheet. The third rivet hole may be indicative of a repair carried out to this fitting: the Corbridge cuirasses showed signs of having undergone repairs to such fittings.
