Female worker at the Round House railway yard, Camden
This figure study is one in a series of drawings by the artist Clifford Rowe of women workers employed at the Round House railway yard in Kentish Town, Camden, during World War II. As well as figure studies, the series includes steam locomotives under service and women loading goods using gantries and pallets.

After a period of poverty, 'drawing with boot polish on newspapers', he became a long-term member of the Communist Party and traveled to Soviet Union.
