Exterior of the Building for the Great Exhibition
This souvenir handkerchief commemorates the Great Exhibition of 1851, which was held in London's Hyde Park to demonstrate the best of international art, design and technology. At the centre is a view of the 'Crystal Palace', the glass structure designed by Sir Joseph Paxton to house the exhibition. This is surrounded by portraits of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, and with flags of the various nations whose works were represented in the show.
