Paintings, Prints & Drawings — 1819
View of the Tower of London
View of the Tower of London from the Thames with boats and passengers on the river. This watercolour was etched by Daniell Havell and published by Rudolph Ackermann in 1819 as part of a series of London views after Gendall's drawings (see the LMA's London Picture Archive nos. 22442 and 22443 for aquatints). The print is very similar, except for excluding the rowing boat with tiny figures at the far right, which is very out of scale.
