Triangular piece of woollen cloth. Too matted/felted to see weave detail. Looks to be tabby woven but quite matted so other details cannot be distinguised. Insert or gusset (perhaps) with some stitches still present around the edge. Quite stiff and has some sort of gum on the reverse. Could be soiling from burial or vestiges of a previous consolidation treatment.
