Cut plain woven base to either a shoe lining or a sewn woven sock. Evidence of weaving faults at heel shows that weft has not been beaten up sufficiently when weaving; also a small hole. Yarn diameter 0.5-0.5 mm, Z spun, 10 threads per cm. Colour: 10YR 2/2 very dark brown, 3/2 very dark grey brown. Fabric is on the bias relative to the direction of the shoe shape.
