Archaeological textile. Sleeve of knitted wool. Catalogue note by Lesley O'Connell Edwards: Shaped wool sleeve knitted in the round, from wrist to top. Top and wrist edge both present. At the wrist end, c. 1cm from the edge, a pattern of 3 single reverse stocking stitch ridges begins. The next two ridges are separated by 2 /3 rounds of plain stocking stitch. The remainder of the sleeve is plain. At the very top, there is a loose strand of stitches. Average tension c.2.7 stitches and c.5.3 rounds per cm.
