Robe, christening robe
One of three baby's long gowns (nightgowns?) in white cotton with wide neck, bodice front in one section with sewn-down tucks at centre front. Bodice back in two sections, centre back opening and fastening with drawstrings. Long sleeves in one section with turnback cuffs. Neck and sleeves trimmed with muslin frill. Applied band of openwork embroidery at centre front waist, tie each side to fasten at centre back. Skirt in two straight sections gathered to waist.
