Black felt shako hat with leather peak, trimmings and chin strap. Metal badge of London Rifle Brigade on front. Lined with brown leather and red/orange fabric. Underside of brim is green leather. Printed on inside of crown in gold transfer with 'SAMUEL BROTHERS, LIMITED/MILITARY/OUTFITTERS/&/CONTRACTORS/LUDGATE HILL, LONDON'. Circular paper label above this printed in blue ink with '7 1/8'. Owner's details handwritten on leather lining in black ink.
