Fashion — C. 1890
Fabric, silk fabric
A length of printed silk dress fabric, with yellow floral pattern on a cream silk ground. The end is stamped 'Liberty & Co. Regent Street, London W. Registered'. The design appears in ghost form in a Liberty pattern book of around 1890.
Arthur Liberty sold Chinese and Japanese silks in his Regent Street store. He also commissioned English manufacturers to print fabrics similar to those imported from the East.
