Dress
Dress of c 1840-1850 (possibly used to represent the 1790s). White lawn, bodice lined in cotton. Natural waist with elbow length fitted sleeves. Bodice gathered vertically over bust including bust darts and a drawstring neckline faced with bias binding. Deep belt at waist curved into an apex at centre back, backed in cotton and wool. Centre front closing with metal hooks. Skirt tightly gathered into waistband with a full skirt, small train and deep hem. Frilled edgings at neck, sleeves and waist. Machine stitch topstitching on side back panels and left should seam suggest alterations.
