Bodice
Slate blue silk bodice cut in four pieces - two back and two front. Long basques at back cut from same material as body of jacket. Front cut to end about five inches below natural waistline at centre front sloping off towards side seams. Two long bust darts, boned. Side seams also boned. Plain round neck. Shaped near-wrist length sleeves trimmed with pleats and braiding. Same braiding down both sides of centre front opening. Basque edges fringed. Lined with white cotton. Condition of fabric good. Bodice has surplus of braiding, untrimmed (indication of a later addition?).
