Dress
06/02/2017: A black ink stamp has been found on the cotton lining of the bodice. The stamp is on the inside and, therefore, backwards, but reads 'Marshall & Snelgrove / London' These words are in a circle and sit below a crown. Also found on this date, and in the pocket on the right side of the skirt, is a paper label with 'Polaroid 3000' printed on it. Polaroid 3000 was a camera that debuted in 1977, the year this dress was donated. It remains uncertain why this piece of paper is in the pocket.
Part of a collection of material relating to the history of the Marshall and Snelgrove store kept in the firm's archives. Presumably the work of Marshall & Snelgrove's dress department.
