MoL "Womens Costume 1750-1800" No 26. The suggestion of Rococo suggest that the silk must date from before 1755 - but the last Garthwaite designs are not for this kind of silk and it is earlier than the samples in T.375-1972 (V&A Museum). As the cut is thought to be a decade later has it been remade or altered?
