Bodice
Black silk bodice worn by Queen Victoria. High round neck fastening centre front with button and buttonholes. Front in one section shaped with boned darts and cut to form basque. Back in eight sections with boned seams and basque. Long sleeves in one section, outer wrist fastening with buttons and loops. Neck and sleeve edges trimmed with black and white chiffon frills. Basque trimmed with black chiffon frills. Centre front and sleeve edges trimmed with black chiffon and machine embroidery on black and white. Tie inside waist. Small slit pocket in left basque. Lined with black silk.
