Label, printed label for raw silk
The first modern silk factories in the Gunma Prefecture of Japan were built in the municipality of Annaka in the 1870's. This silk label, produced in the early 20th century, was produced by Gunma Sanshi Seizo Co. Ltd. in the municipality of Takasaki in the Gunma Prefecture. Silk was imported into London through the East India Docks in Tower Hamlets.
