Label, printed label for raw silk
Label for Hatsukari raw silk made by Kawagoe Seishi Co. Ltd. in Japan. Previously Ishikawa Seishi, the company was renamed Kawagoe Seishi and post 1945 strengthened its place in the market by creating raw silk for high quality stockings. Silk was imported into London through the East India Docks in Tower Hamlets.
