Cape, pelerine
Black satin pelerine, covered with fine black crêpe at neck, decorated with five appliqué motifs of cream machine lace, with black sequins and beads of false jet and cut steel in swathes, trails and flowers. Edged with wide band of black satin damask with open-work stripes, gathered to rosette at each side and then widening to long hanging ends. Whole bordered and lavishly trimmed with gathered black crêpe edging. Woven label yellow on black at back of neck: "Ruffle, Costumier, Clapham Common". Condition: good.
