Carpenter's Road bridge over the Lea Navigation, looking north
Colour pigment photographic print showing a view of Carpenter's Road bridge over the Lea Navigation, 2006. Carpenter's Road refers back to the Worshipful Company of Carpenters who purchased an area of marshy land in West Ham in the 18th century. Some of this was leased for industrial use in the 19th century. Much of Carpenter's Road was absorbed into the Olympic Park. This photograph was taken as part of a project to document the site of the London 2012 Olympic Games prior to its closure for redevelopment in July 2007.
