Printed Ephemera — 2008
Licence
This Big Issue seller's licence belonged to Richard Gray. It was issued in January 2008 and lasted until February 2009. The Big Issue is a news and current-affairs magazine written by professional journalists and sold on the streets by vendors from London's homeless community. Richard said of The Big Issue:
"This has helped me to cope with homeless life in London, thanks to the kind and generous people of London. I have regular customers in the city that I know well and am on first name terms. The money I make from The Big Issue is helpful for food and clothes and it encourages me to get back into work. I feel good when a friendly person who is dressed for work in an office stops to talk to you and buys a magazine. It's good to know people actually do care. This is classed as working not begging".
