One half of a two-part mould for musket-sized shot (of 13 mm bore). Made from fine-grained stone (possibly sandstone/lias) with a hemispherical depression, sprue and two key holes. The mould is worn and of irregular proportions and may originally have been one of several similar matrices within a much larger block. Two incisions on reverse.
