The Sun
This issue of ‘The Sun’ newspaper was printed in London on Monday 15 December 1800. It contains an advert for the sale of the Career Plantation on the island of Saint Vincent in the Caribbean. The advert lists equipment as well as ‘236 "Negro" and other slaves attached thereto, males and females, young and old, among which said slaves are eight carpenters, six coopers and three masons...'. There is also an account of the activities of highwaymen or footpads on Shooters Hill, and their subsequent arrest at Charlton.
