Rabbit Hutch
Watercolour sketch of the 'rabbit hutch' in the Zoological Gardens in Regent's Park, c. 1828. The sketch is part of a series of 23 drawings, 2004.158/1-23. Five are dated June/July 1828. The Zoological Society of London founded in 1826 established their collection of animals in the Park in 1828, attracting 30,000 visitors in the first seven months. The menagerie initially included monkeys, bears, emus, kangaroos, llamas, zebras and turtles.
