Dress
Liaqat Rasul designed this dress for Top Shop under his label Toba Tek Singh. It was sold in the shop's boutique section. Top Shop works closely with the British fashion industry providing New Generation sponsorship for businesses less than three years old and commissioning lines from young designers for sale in their in-store boutiques.
The summer dress, which has a low waist, is made with a cotton jersey vest top and a circular cotton skirt. The neckline and chest are decorated with small discs of the skirt fabric and the skirt is appliquéd with circles of mint-green cotton. The skirt has full viscose lining.
Pakistan-born Liaqat Rasul trained in Delhi before completing his degree at the University of Derby. He is influenced by British and Indian culture.
