Knife, discoidal knife
A Late Neoltihic to Early Bronze Age flint discoidal knife, dating 2,700 - 2,200 BCE. These knives are believed to be used for scraping rather than cutting. They are made to a very high standard and are not part of the standard Neolithic tool kit. These are more unusual and special objects.
Discoidal knives have been found across the UK and Ireland, many associated with rivers and watery places. Around 14 have been found in the Thames.
