Beaker, commemorative beaker
White glazed cylindrical earthenware Jubilee memorial beaker with tapering body to rim decorated with sepia transfer printed design. One of 45,000 such beakers produced by Doulton to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The mug is decorated with a pair of transfer-printed medallion portraits of the Queen surmounted by the Imperial Crown. One shows the Queen as she appeared at the date of her accession in 1837, the other as she appeared in 1887. The inscription underneath reads: George Wallis Esq. F.S.A. from Sir Henry Doulton.
