St James of Spain
Handcoloured portrait of a mounted St James of Spain embellished with tinsel ornaments and decorations notably on the armour and horse furnishings. The portrait was published by A.Park and is numbered seven in the series 'Horses'. Most tinsel prints featured actors in theatrical roles, though as the activity of tinselling became more popular publishers also produced prints of allegorical and historical figures.
