Bottle
A ceramic bottle of Hutchin's 'Curator' book leather preservative. Leather preservatives were used in an attempt to slow down the deterioration or to improve the appearance of books bound in leather. Preservatives were also used to make the leather more flexible meaning that the hinges and spines were not so fragile thus prolonging the useful life of the book. This bottle is corked and there is still liquid inside.
