The Empire's Tribute
Celluloid covered tin button badge with an image of Queen Victoria flanked by the Union Jack and the Royal Standard bearing the caption 'A tribute to Queen and defenders National Bazaar, May 24th 1900'. The National Bazaar raised funds for injured soldiers and their families suffering as a result of the second Anglo-Boer war. Such badges would have been sold at charity markets and other fund raising events organised as part of National Bazaar day.
