Social History — C. 1981
Badge, lapel badge
This badge was produced in protest at the transportation of nuclear waste through London by British Nuclear Fuels Limited (BNFL). In the 1980s protests by local Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) groups were organised against the transport of flasks of nuclear waste by train from power stations to reprocessing stations like Sellafield in Cumbria.
This badge was purchased by a member of the Museum of London's staff from a CND street stall on Crouch End Broadway in 1981.
