Plate
Metal plate dated c. 1755-1781. There are faint touches on the underside including a crowned X and LONDON label, and the double-headed eagle ‘HARD’/’METAL’ mark of Burgum & Catcott, Bristol, OP708. Henry Burgum I and George Symes Catcott combined forces in the 1760s and in 1768 they were trading from 2 Bristol Bridge, which remained their business address until 1779 when the partnership was dissolved (see London Gazette for 16th February, 1779).
