Transport Pavilion Front and IGR Locomotive, South Bank Exhibition
Photographic postcard showing the outdoor displays of the Transport Pavilion at the South Bank Exhibition for the Festival of Britain, 1951. The image shows the Indian Government Railways (IGR) locomotive. This full size, 120 ton steam locomotive and tender were built in England for the Indian government. They were road-transported to the South Bank site for the Festival.
