Beaker, commemorative beaker
White glazed cylindrical earthenware Jubilee memorial beaker with tapering body to rim decorated with sepia transfer printed design. Produced by Doulton to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria On the front side is an image of Queen Victoria seated on a throne holding a sceptre and orb surrounded by the Royal Coat of Arms. On the rear side below a shield with pair of lions and unicorn is the inscription: "Victoria / Our Beloved Sovereign and Most Excellent Majesty, by the Grace of God Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, Empress of India, was born the twenty fourth day of May in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and nineteen. Ascending the throne of England in the year eighteen hundred and thirty seven. By the continued Blessing of the Most High She after Sixty Years yet sitteth on the throne of her ancestory and reigneth in the hearts of her beloved people. / 1897 / God Save the Queen". The base is printed with "Victoria R.I. Diamond Jubilee, Doulton Burslem, Rd No. 293,419.
