Card, valentine card

Comic valentine's card printed as a woodcut on cheap paper with a caricature of a wood carver. The print is crudely coloured and below is printed a cruel verse 'Blubber-headed carving beast, You ne'er shall carve my heart at least; Mallet-brains, poor twankey-dillo-- Nail'd to a four-post bedstead pillow. Carve on my spindle shanks, go one-- And when thy race of life is run, I'm told, and think the story true, The devil himself will then carve you.' One of a collection of sample comic valentine's bound in a single volume, stored within a wooden case. On the spine of the case is a label 'Comic'.
