Printed Ephemera — 1951
South Bank Exhibition
This leaflet describes the South Bank Exhibition, part of the Festival of Britain, 1951. This was the centrepiece of the Festival. The leaflet refers to how the story of Britain's great contributions to civilisation was told through the 19 pavilions on the site. Other notable features included a glass lift tower and the Telecinema. There were also many restaurants, cafes and bars. The cover of the leaflet shows the Skylon, which, when illuminated at night, appeared to have no visible means of support.
