Mr Collins as Sir Reginold the Bold in the Giant of Palestine
Handcoloured theatrical souvenir plate engraved with a portrait of the actor Mr Collins in the role of Sir Reginald the Bold in the production of the Giant of Palestine. The portrait is embellished with metal foil tinsel ornaments, notably on the dress accessories and armour. The clothing is of shaded silk. The sheet also has handcoloured background scenery. Such portraits would have been sold for 1d plain as theatrical souvenirs for colouring and tinselling at home.
