Printed Ephemera — 1851-1860
Card, valentine card
Comic valentine's card printed with a handcoloured caricature portrait of a man dressed in 'livery smart'. Below is printed an eight line valentine's verse 'So spruce you look in livery smart, That you have won my virgin heart, A heart that's tender constant true, And beats alone for love and you, The Buttler strives my heart to win, For him I do not care a pin, So he may keep his ale and wine, I like you better, Valentine'.
