Interior Power and Production Pavilion, South Bank Exhibition
Souvenir postcard showing the interior of the Power and Production pavilion at the South Bank, part of the Festival of Britain of 1951. This view looks from the upper gallery down to the Machines at Work section. The displays showed the manufacture of Peak Freans ice wafer biscuits, printing, shoe-making by the firm of Dolcis, and sweet-wrappng by machine. The pavilion incorporated what was then the largest sheet of glass in the world to serve as a viewing window.
